Frequently Asked Questions

A wa.me link is the official WhatsApp short link format — https://wa.me/<number> — that opens a chat with that number when tapped on any phone. Adding ?text=<message> prefills the chat with your message so the customer just has to hit Send. It works without saving the contact and on both Android and iOS, plus WhatsApp Web on desktop.
No. wa.me links work with both regular WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business — same number, same link format. WhatsApp Business adds features like quick replies and away messages on your end, but the link itself is identical and works everywhere WhatsApp works.
Generate the link here, copy it, and paste it into the website field in your Instagram profile (Edit profile → Website). Instagram makes it tappable. On a business profile you can also add an “Action button” that does the same thing without using the website slot — both go through the same wa.me link.
WhatsApp uses your country code to identify the number globally — without it, the link won’t open the right account. For India that’s 91 followed by the 10-digit mobile number (so 919876543210, not just 9876543210). The tool prepends it automatically based on the country you pick.
